True to its name, the Indian Jungle Crow (Corvus culminatus) occurs throughout India south of the Himalaya. The most characteristic features of these common birds are their thick bill and the glossy black plumage. The opportunists feed on anything between seeds, fruits, insects, and carrion. I have photographed these birds in southern India (Tamil Nadu) during a trip in September 2011.
