Germany 2017: Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bavaria:

Siebersturm

Siebersturm

In November, I spent a couple of days with friends in northern Bavaria. One afternoon, we explored the beautiful city centre of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Even though the weather was quite terrible, we took a stroll through the alleys with its medieval buildings. Apart from the historic old town, the most prominent sight is St. James’s Church which houses the famous Holy Blood altarpiece carved by Tilman Riemenschneider between 1500 and 1505.

I am convinced Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a beautiful place for a leisurely walk and very much worth the trip – as long as it does not rain at temperatures of around 3°C…
