Tanzania 2017 (part VII): Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania:

Lesser Flamingos at Lake Manyara

From the shores of Lake Natron, I travelled south to Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara National Park is particularly famous for its tree-climbing lions, nevertheless these big cats stayed out of sight during my visit. Instead I was happy to finally get close views of Blue Monkeys and a large number of birds – especially the magnificent Silvery-cheeked Hornbill! I was really impressed by the beautiful landscape with dense forests and open wetlands.

After the afternoon safari in the national park, I stayed overnight in a near-by hostel and continued my journey with a visit to the Kilimanjaro National Park on the following day.
